The national vision for Family Support is that every family that needs support gets the right family support at the right time to fulfil children's right to be raised safely in their own families, for as long as it is needed.
Across Scotland, the focus for Whole Family Wellbeing (WFW) has been to explore and develop the core elements identified within the National Holistic Family Support Route map.
CYPIC Improvement Advisors are working with local areas and national partners to build and share learning about how to improve support for families using quality improvement (QI) as our systematic method to build and share learning.
We are part of a national team supporting East Lothian Children's Services Planning Partnership to improve family support by using QI to identify, develop and deliver changes to how families are supported no matter what their needs. This work is being delivered as part of the Scottish Government Whole Family Wellbeing Funding, which was designed to support organisations to make transformative change to outcomes for families.
We have written a Case Study that shares the story of what has been achieved, and how using a method has enabled this. The learning shared is helpful to anyone interested in enabling the system change required to ensure every family gets the right support at the right time, for as long as they need.
A national Whole Family Wellbeing Learning into Action Network has been established to share learning and exchange knowledge around family support. There is a private group on Knowledge Hub to share a range of useful resources and materials as well as space to collaborate and engage with other members. Use the following link to create a free account on Knowledge Hub and join the group: Join Learning into Action Group on KHub
We are supporting national work to Keep the Promise and will provide more information on this soon.
